Lake Thoreau Dam (Via Lake Audubon) has a paved trail that goes along the dam into wooded paths throughout Reston’s other Lakes. The lake is lined with beautiful houses and boating is permitted.
Wolf Trap Park Trail is a hidden trail next to the Wolf Trap Performing Arts Center. It is an unpaved trail with a creek that runs alongside it. It is a short and beautiful nature hike.
River Bend Park is less known than its neighboring Park, Great Falls but it has calmer waters that are visible throughout the marked trail. There are boats, canoes and kayaks for rent at the parks as well as fishing equipment if you are interested in doing that after your walk.
Great Falls Park is popular for its Water Falls but it also has several trails with varying difficulty levels. Some trails go alongside the water and others in the wooded areas but all trails have unique features, such as wildlife citing and great views.
