A few weeks ago, I walked into Choolaah, at the Mosaic District not knowing what to expect and I left delightfully surprised. You see I was treating my 8-year-old niece to lunch and the pressure was on to take her somewhere that was delicious, healthy and fast, Choolaah proved to be an ideal choice.
Choolaah is a fast- casual restaurant that specializes in Nothern Indian Cuisine. All the dishes found on Choolaah’s menu are made in-house with fresh ingredients and prepared in a short time due to the efficiency of their customized Tandoor Ovens.
Choolaah’s menu is easy to understand which makes ordering food a simple and efficient process but the best part of the Choolaah experience is the way in which Choolaah caters to multiple dietary needs. There are dishes for Vegans, Vegetarians, Meat-lovers and Gluten-free eaters and you get to choose your own sauces so you can go mild or spicy.
My niece and I both decided on bbq bowls for our lunch. I customized mine with the Choolaah Fire sauce to make it extra spicy while my niece enjoyed the multiple layers of flavor in her mild tikka masala and chicken bbq.
If you’re in the NoVa area you can experience Choolaah at the Mosaic District or their new Sterling location. Choolaah Sterling will be opening next weekend on June 2nd so be sure to stop by for some delish food and grand opening festivities!
Now that I’ve been back a few times, this is what I’ll recommend you try: Drink mint ginger lemonade, Snack on samosas as your appetizer, Choose the Choolaah Salad as your main dish then opt for Malai Kulfi for dessert and Enjoy!
Special Thanks to Choolaah Mosaic for their hospitality!
